Christine Malone, assistant director of residence life, is a live-in professional staff member who directly oversees Meyran Hall, Marx Center and the leased 7th Street Duplexes (which includes the language houses). She is responsible for oversight of the residential programming model, campus-wide events led by Residence Life, and specialized staff training. In addition, Christine, who reports to the director of residence life, helps to mentor the area coordinators.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Christine became interested in student affairs after speaking with several student affairs professionals. While completing her graduate work, she served as a graduate assistant with the Office of Residence Life and Housing. She also served as an intern with judicial affairs, student life and housing services throughout graduate school. Prior to coming to Hood College, she began her professional career as a residence hall coordinator at a small university in Columbus, Ohio, where she was involved in program planning, staff recruitment and selection, and she facilitated the RA leadership workshop. Christine earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration and a master of arts degree in counseling: student personnel services.
