Award Recipients

In honor of their achievement, the Nursing Department is excited to recognize the nursing students who have received awards!

  • Sabrina Benge: The Linda Mae Snapp Memorial Award in Nursing
    Awarded annually to a student(s) in the nursing program based on leadership and service.
     
  • Sam Flemmens: The Linda J. Kennedy Outstanding Student Award
    Awarded annually to a graduating senior in the nursing program whom the faculty believe has the potential to make a significant contribution to the nursing profession through practice, research, and/or education.
     
  • Abigail Feurherd and Bahador Bemani: The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nursing Students
    Awarded in deep appreciation of a student’s commitment to extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate patient care, that will make a meaningful difference in the lives of many people.
  • Sabrina Benge: The Martha Chandler Gurzick Clinical Excellence Prize                                              The prize is awarded annually to a graduating senior in the nursing department who has displayed excellence in their clinical rotation as recommended by site-based practicing nurses and clinical instructors.
  • Lauren Keane and Jessica Lyons: The Linda Mae Snapp Memorial Award in Nursing
    Awarded annually to a student(s) in the nursing program based on leadership and service.
     
  • Sandra Nchang: The Linda J. Kennedy Outstanding Student Award
    Awarded annually to a graduating senior in the nursing program whom the faculty believe has the potential to make a significant contribution to the nursing profession through practice, research, and/or education.
     
  • Jennifer Dumps and Erika Henriquez: The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nursing Students
    Awarded in deep appreciation of a student’s commitment to extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate patient care, that will make a meaningful difference in the lives of many people.
  • Aaron Delph and Laura Vetter: The Linda Mae Snapp Memorial Award in Nursing
    Awarded annually to a student(s) in the nursing program based on leadership and service.
     
  • Bahador Bemani: The Bernard Gerrard Prize for “Mature” Students
    Awarded to a student who is beginning or returning to college 20 or more years after completing high school.
     
  • Frederick Roberts: The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nursing Students
    Awarded in deep appreciation of a student’s commitment to extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate patient care, that will make a meaningful difference in the lives of many people.
     
  • Emily Dettbarn: The Hood College Prize in Ethics
    Awarded for the best paper of the year submitted as part of an undergraduate course.
     
  • Emily Loveless: The Robert W. Boyle Outstanding Achievement in Statistics Book Award in Psychology
    Awarded to the student with the highest grade in a required statistics course.
