Biography

Dr. Davis comes "home" to Hood from her most recent position at the University of the Pacific (Sacramento, CA) having served as the founding Program Director/Chair and Associate Professor of Clinical Nutrition in the School of Health Sciences.  As Program Director, Dr. Davis was responsible for accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND), program design, organization, administration, fiscal management, ongoing review and assessment, and planning and development of the Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition Program (MSCN).  Prior to her position at the University of the Pacific, Dr. Davis was a faculty member at the University of New Haven (Nutrition and Dietetics) , and University of Saint Joseph (Nutrition and Public Health).

Her research interests center on pediatric nutrition, childhood obesity, medical nutrition therapy, sports nutrition, GI nutrition, and life cycle nutrition. She is an active member of several professional organizations and has recently worked to update and clarify the definition of evidence-based practice in the field of nutrition and dietetics.

 

Education

Dr. Davis earned a B.S. in Food and Nutrition from the University of Maine, a M.S. from the University of Connecticut School of Allied Health, and a Ph.D. in Public Health from Temple University.
