Assistant Professor of Economics

Rosenstock Hall, Room 118

I teach a variety of courses in our economics program at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. My research focuses on gender and race in labor markets, where I evaluate how policy can redress gender and racial inequality. For several years, I have received Summer Research Institute grants to conduct research with Hood undergraduate students. My former research assistants have gone on to present our findings at academic conferences, write academic papers of our research, and use the research experience to help them prepare for graduate school. In the wider community, I serve as a representative for higher education on the Maryland Equal Pay Commission. At Hood, I am the faculty advisor to the college Rotaract Club. A native of suburban Chicago, I am an avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan. I enjoy traveling and listening to podcasts.
