The Department of Campus Safety provides law enforcement and protective services to the campus. While our campus safety department (and it's personnel) are responsible for insuring that our campus remains as safe as possible, the primary responsibility for crime prevention and personal safety rests with each individual. Each of us must take personal responsibility for our own safety, as well as for the safety of those around us.
Please review the information on this website to become familiar with the programs and services provided by the College so you may become involved as a responsible member of the College community.
On any college campus, the level of crime is affected by enrollment, geographic size, location and other factors. Hood College is among the safest in the country. As with other colleges, many campus crimes are committed by members of the college community against others in the same community, especially property crimes. Property crimes account for 98 percent of all crimes in our campus community. The most common type of crime at Hood is theft of unattended property such as book bags, purses and briefcases.
We urge you to take advantage of of the many safety programs given by Hood College. We will do our best to provide you with a safe learning and living environment.
