Herd Immunity

According to the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, herd immunity occurs when most of a population is immune to an infectious disease, which provides indirect protection to those who are not immune to the disease. To protect the entire campus community, the College defined herd immunity at 80 percent of the population being protected. The following plan assumes we reach this level of protection on campus. If we do not reach this level by the fall, additional restrictions will be put in place and we will likely have to revert to some protocols from the New Horizon Plan published in fall 2020 and updated in spring 2021.
