Health & Wellness

Hood College is dedicated to providing a safe environment for the campus community and minimizing the spread of COVID-19 through vaccinations, the appropriate use of masks, behavioral practices, and frequent disinfecting of surfaces and common areas in buildings and around campus. We will continue to monitor guidance from the CDC on appropriate use of masks on campus.

Please know that our plans are subject to change in the best interest of our community’s health and safety. We have back-up plans in place if any part of our current plan for the academic year needs to be altered.

Although individuals with COVID-19 do not always exhibit symptoms, the best practice is to monitor signs and symptoms daily. Therefore, all faculty, staff and students regardless of their vaccination status are required to monitor themselves for symptoms of COVID-19. Even those up to date on their COVID-19 vaccinations should continue to monitor themselves for symptoms of COVID-19, especially if they’ve been around someone who is sick.

Symptoms of COVID-19 include:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

This list does not include all possible symptoms. CDC will continue to update the list.
