Biography

I started my studies in physics at M.I.T. in order to better understand the world around me, especially the nature of light.

This inspired me to look into how we actually sense and perceive light, so I studied vision for my Ph.D. in biophysics at the University of California, Berkeley. That sparked my fascination with the Nervous System: from the scale of components of the individual cell, or neuron, to the entire system crucial in understanding these words.

I have found that my varied science background strengthens my teaching abilities, so that I can communicate better with more students.
