Employee Onboarding

Welcome to Hood College!

As a new employee, you may have questions about our campus community. We have put together some resources on this page to familiarize you with our campus and departmental functions.

If you are new to Frederick County, we want to welcome you and connect you with some information about our local community.

If you are a supervisor of a new employee, you can access information about the Employee Onboarding Process, including the Staff Onboarding Manual and the Blazer Buddy Program.

Hood College has a rich history. As a new employee you are being welcomed into a community long on traditions.  We want you to become familiar with our campus and know where to find the resources you need.

Our website has a vast amount of information.  We encourage you to take some time in your first few weeks to explore the website.  For employee information, the best launching point is the Information for Faculty & Staff tab, which will take you directly to a directory of our policies, administrative departments and campus IT applications.

Your New Employee Experience

We have put together an onboarding experience to welcome you and familiarize you with our campus community.  You will start your experience in Human Resources where you will complete your initial paperwork and participate in a Benefits Orientation session.

If you are a Staff member, you will be assigned a Blazer Buddy who will help guide you through your first year as a Hood employee. This individual will be your "go to" resources when you have questions and he/she will help connect you to the campus community.

If you are a Faculty Member, you will be assigned a Faculty mentor.
