New Student Housing

GET EXCITED!  You'll soon move into your on-campus home away from home and begin your college journey!

DON'T FORGET to complete your medical paperwork by July 31st Required Medical Forms | Hood College.

New students will be assigned roommates and emailed their room assignments on July 21st . New first-year and transfer students will be assigned to Coblentz Hall, Smith Hall, Meyran Hall, and Shriner Hall.

    Important Dates:

    July 7

    • Housing and Food Service Contract due
      • Access this electronic form within Self Service using your Hood College email username and password (provided to you within a week after paying your enrollment deposit).
      • This form contains questions about you so you can best be assigned to a room and with a roommate (or roommates as we have a few 3 and 4-person rooms)
      • Staff would love to match you with a roommate. However, if you have a preferred roommate, type their name on your form.
        • If you have already submitted your form and you later find a preferred roommate, you may edit your form prior to the July 8 deadline.
      • Housing Accommodations Request Form due (if applicable)
        • A housing accommodations request form is required only for students requesting reasonable housing accommodations due to any of the following reasons: disabilities (medical, psychological, temporary, disability factors, nonmedical physical), gender, religious, or cultural.

        July 21

        • Your housing assignment and roommate assignment will be emailed to your Hood College email account. Download the Outlook application on your mobile device and be sure to make it a habit of checking your new email account to not miss important messages.
        • Talk with your roommate and decide what items will be shared (mini-fridge, microwave, etc.). Click here for a detailed suggested list of items to bring (and not bring). Additionally, pack light for an easy move in and move out.

        July 31

        • Medical Forms are due (to FMH Tollhouse)
          • Maryland law requires all residential students to have the meningococcal vaccine or sign a waiver declining the vaccination.
          • To be able to move in, students must have this submitted their form.

        August 18

        August 18 - 20

        • New student orientation will begin after you move in. You will receive more information about orientation.
