Advising and Registration Days--Summer 2021
Welcome to Hood College! We’re eager to assist new fall 2021 undergraduate students with next steps in the enrollment process, which includes placement tests, advising & registration, and orientation.
Placement scores are needed in advance of advising and registration to help ensure you are placed into the correct classes. To complete your placement tests, log into the “New Student Advising and Placement” site in Blackboard using your new Hood email and password you should have received by letter from Admissions>> HERE.
Test results are generally available within several days to a week after completion and are visible to students at the "placements" link on the homepage of self-service. Individual results will not be emailed to students but will be discussed during your advising session.
Advising and Registration Sessions
New students will register for courses online in self-service.
For questions regarding placement testing or advising & registration contact the Student Success Center at firstname.lastname@example.org. Students requesting accommodations may contact Kate Gmuer, Director of Accessibility Services, at email@example.com .
First year students
Prior to advising, begin reviewing the list of fall FYS 101 section descriptions to find some potential topics of interest! All first year students are required to enroll in FYS 101.
Virtual summer advising sessions for first year students have now closed, but staff in the Student Success Center are happy to work with you individually on advising & registration for your fall courses in the coming weeks. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 301-696-3569.
Virtual summer advising sessions for transfer students have now closed, but new transfers will meet for advising with a faculty in their major if interest. Staff in the Student Success Center can help connect you with your department Chair or other faculty advisor, at email@example.com or 301-696-3569.
