Advising and Registration Spring 2021
Welcome to Hood College! We’re eager to assist new students with next steps in the enrollment process, which includes placement tests, advising & registration, and orientation. Below we list info for new spring 2021 students. Fall 2021 information will be posted later in spring 2021.
Students will receive separate communication regarding the need for placement testing. These scores are needed in advance of advising and registration to help ensure you are placed into the correct classes. To complete your placement tests, log into the “New Student Advising and Placement” site in Blackboard using your new Hood email and password you should have received by letter from Admissions>> HERE.
Advising and Registration Sessions
You’ll have the opportunity to talk with a faculty advisor to discuss your interests and plans, and register for J-term (January winter term) and spring 2021 courses. J-term enrollment is not required, but is also available to you. Your advising appointment may be in-person (safely distanced), by phone, or Zoom, whatever works best for you and your advisor. Online registration for new students for J-term and spring 2021 opens in self-service November 16, 2020. For details on your advising & registration, click the button below if you will be entering as a first year (directly out of high school) or transfer student.
For questions regarding placement testing or advising & registration contact the Student Success Center at firstname.lastname@example.org. Students requesting accommodations may contact Kate Gmuer, Director of Accessibility Services, at email@example.com .
The spring 2021 orientation schedule and details will be posted here as soon as they become available.
The Dean of Student Success will reach out to you on the need for any placement testing and to connect you with a faculty advisor in your major of interest. Undeclared transfer students may be advised by a staff member in the Student Success Center. Contact us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org or 301-696-3569.
