Language Placement Exams

Students who took at least two years of a language in high school are required to take an online language placement test prior to registration.

Students who place in the 201 (intermediate) level and above will receive additional credits toward graduation if they take the designated course in their first semester at Hood and receive a grade of C or higher.

Students taking 201 will receive 6 credits total upon completion of the class; students who place into 203 or into a 200-level civilization class will receive 9 credits; and students placing into 207, 208 (Cultural Perspectives on Literature I and II), or a higher course, will receive 12 credits.
