Biography
Dr. Stromberg is a Professor of Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry and Physics at Hood College. As an undergraduate, he studied chemistry and computer science at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. He earned his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. Dr. Stromberg completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Pomona College in Claremont, California.
Dr. Stromberg joined the faculty of Hood College in 2005. He teaches general, inorganic, and physical chemistry courses, as well as a course on writing in the sciences and a first-year seminar on environmental issues. Dr. Stromberg’s research involves ultrafast laser spectroscopy of [FeFe]-hydrogenase model compounds.
A long-distance runner and cyclist, Dr. Stromberg has completed two marathons and several 100-mile (century) bike rides. He is also a musician, playing guitar and singing in several music groups at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Frederick, MD.
