Community Gardens at Islamic Society of Frederick

Built gardens

What an incredible day!!! We were honored today to work with volunteers through United Way Frederick's annual Day Of Action to build EIGHT garden beds at the Islamic Society of Frederick. These garden beds will be used to teach children about gardening, and produce will be distributed to residents of Frederick’s food deserts.

This group of volunteers was not only hard working but positive and enthusiastic about volunteering. Thank you for your hard work!

Thank you to Wells Fargo of Frederick and Capital One of Frederick for supporting your employees to come build with us. Thank you to ISF for your wonderful partnership. Thank you to United Way for coordinating this awesome day. And thank you to The Chesapeake Bay Trust and EPA region 3 for funding this project through the G3 grant. We are just getting started!
