Flavius Lilly

The Graduate School at Hood College has nominated Flavius Lilly for the 2014 Outstanding Graduate Adjunct Faculty award. Flavius is an adjunct faculty member in the Gerontology program, where he is highly respected by his students.

Flavius hopes “the award means my students are learning and genuinely experiencing the material.” His role models are the many great teachers he’s had in his own life. “I try to emulate their excitement, ability to plan, listen, and sequence learning and discussion.” At Hood, he says, “I learn something new from my students every single time we are in class.”

This award, along with the full-time Outstanding Graduate Teaching Award for a Full-Time Faculty, is supported by a generous grant from the Hood College Board of Associates. Flavius will be honored for this achievement at the Master’s Degree Recipient Reception on May 14, 2014.  In the fall 2014 semester, he will teach GERO 555, Psychological Aspects of Aging, and GERO 599, Special Topics in Aging.
