June 2019 - Hood College was recognized as a Bronze Awardee by Healthiest Maryland Businesses.  This award recognizes Hood's ongoing commitment to providing a wellness-oriented environment for our staff, faculty and students.  Read more about this award.

March 2015 – The Frederick County Human Relations Commission selected Hood College to receive the Frederick County Human Relations Commission’s Human Relations Award. Hood College was chosen for its yearlong commitment to honor the 50th Anniversary of the signing of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

2011 – Hood was one of two local companies that received a Business Health Award in the medium company category from the Frederick Regional Health System and the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce. The award was presented for developing a five-year Wellness Strategic Plan that focuses on physical, emotional, social, intellectual, spiritual, environmental and occupational well-being.

2011 – Hood, one of 24 finalists, was ranked number one in the "Best Places to Work" in the large employer category by the Frederick County Office of Economic Development, Frederick County Workforce Services and Frederick County Chamber of Commerce. Hood was recognized for its continuing efforts to be a family-friendly employer in the major employer group category.

2007 – Hood earned an Above and Beyond Award, issued by the U.S. Department of Defense on behalf of the men and women of the National Guard and Reserve forces to employers who provide outstanding service and continued support to the national defense effort. Hood College was recognized for this highest level of award because our benefit plans provide more than what is required by law under the Uniformed Services Employment and Re-employment Rights Act.

2007 – Hood was recognized as one of the top 10 "Family Friendly Workplaces" by the Frederick County Office of Economic Development, Frederick County Workforce Services and Frederick County Chamber of Commerce.
