Why did you choose Hood?

I chose Hood because of the proximity to home (Thurmont, MD) and the average size of classes.

Career Goals – what do you hope to do after you graduate from Hood?

After graduation, I am moving to Philadelphia to begin my career as a nurse. After gaining experience, I will enroll in graduate school to become a family nurse practitioner.

Tell us about a professor who has had an impact on your life at Hood.

The professor that has impacted me the most is Dr. Cooper. She has helped me grow as a person and as a professional. Dr. Cooper provides students with unique opportunities through Million Hearts® and other community outreach programs. Dr. Cooper is an asset to Hood College and serves as a mentor for many students such as myself.

What has been your favorite class so far? Why?

Adult Health 3 was the most interesting course I took at Hood College. This class challenged me to use critical thinking and put together each nursing concept to understand the big picture.

What other opportunities have you had at Hood?

Million Hearts research project, Nursing Club President, Men's Tennis, Commuter Council, Smoke Free Campus Initiative

Did you receive a scholarship? If so, which one? What has receiving this scholarship meant to you?

Hodson, Chug, and Trustee. I could not be more thankful of Hood providing me with these scholarship opportunities. These scholarships allowed me to work less and focus more on my education.

What is your favorite place in Frederick?

Los Toltecos, I can't get enough Mexican food.
