"I am very excited about the opportunity to translate my MBA knowledge to the tennis word. I want to explore all the areas of tennis that can potentially help to grow the sport, bring more clients, make tennis more popular in Frederick, MD, and help kids improve their game."

Please share your educational and professional background.

I am from Bogota in Colombia where I graduated from high school.  I then attended Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN to study business administration and play tennis.

After two years, I transferred to Coppin State where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Business and received many tennis awards.

After that, I worked at a company called Tennis Central where I worked as a Director of International Expansion and as a tennis coach.

I then decided to work with the tennis team at Hood College as a graduate assistant while getting my MBA.

Why did you choose Hood College Graduate School for your MBA

I decided to come to Hood College because I had the opportunity to do what I love which is to coach and play tennis. I wanted to expand my business knowledge and use it while still being involved with tennis.

From an international student perspective, how did Hood College help you to adjust?

I was uncertain about being able to continue my education, especially during these difficult times. Hood College faculty and staff have always been very helpful and supportive in helping me make decisions about my educational career.

Can you please tell us about your current graduate assistantship?

I am the graduate assistant for Hood College's tennis team. I am helping the tennis team with their practices, workouts and recruiting. I played D1 tennis and pro tennis, so I am trying to utilize my experience and help the players at Hood get better, as well as more competitive.

What excites you the most about your field of study?

I am very excited about the opportunity to translate my MBA knowledge to the tennis world. I want to explore all the areas of tennis that can potentially help to grow the sport, bring more clients, make tennis more popular in Frederick, MD, and help kids improve their game.
