Hood College Saudi Student Association Ladies Dinner Night

A quick introduction about Hood College's Saudi Student Association. How many members are there and when was this club formed?

Our Association started its activities this semester, and we do great work. At our ladies dinner event, we had 18 Saudi women as well as women from the U.S. and India with a total of 8 children.

What is the mission of the Hood College Saudi Student Association?

Our Association's mission is to create events for Saudi students and their families. We have held special events celebrating Saudi national song and food including a competition for best Saudi dishes. These events allow us to celebrate and enjoy our national culture.

What are some future initiatives planned by the Hood Saudi Women’s Club?

Future planned initiatives include social events such as dinners, games, community engagement, special marriage and births celebrations, welcome and graduation celebrations, all this with the assistance from the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission (SACM).

Any other information you would like to mention about your events?

Our Association activities and events have evolved with the involvement of non-Saudi students. In addition to visiting patients in nursing homes and hosting the Saudi Ladies Dinner Night we plan to host monthly events and include programs to teach Arabic language to Hood College students.

We would like to host events on campus to showcase Saudi culture and language and introduce students to the cultural heritage and history of Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabian government officials are keen to meet with Saudi students studying on American campuses to hear about their experiences and encourage them to build a regular line of communication between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Saudi students studying abroad.
