Director of the Ceramics Program

Joyce Michaud, director of the ceramics program at Hood, was recently honored by having five of her works selected by patrons and gifted to the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Find details about the works and the patrons here.

Michaud is the founding director of the MFA and graduate certificate in ceramics arts programs and studio arts coordinator. She graduated magna cum laude from Lycoming College with bachelor’s degrees in art and education, pursued her graduate degree in ceramics at Columbia Visual Arts College and completed her MFA in ceramics with a specialty in museum studies at The George Washington University  .
