Tell us about your experiences before coming to the Graduate School at Hood College.

I am originally from Nigeria. I moved to the United States about 17 years ago and settled down in Providence, Rhode Island. I took some classes at Rhode Island College and the Community College of Rhode Island.

At that time my major was Nursing. My family highly encouraged me to pursue nursing. However, I realized this was not my passion so I enlisted in the Army in 2014 as a 68J, Medical Logistics Specialist. My first duty station was Fort Detrick, and I was assigned to Medical Research and Development Command.

While there, I started taking classes again at FCC and then at UMDGC and completed a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences.

How did you choose Hood College?

In 2019 I PCS’d to Camp Carrol, South Korea and while there I applied to the Green to Gold (ADO) program.

My old Commander at Fort Detrick recommended Hood College because she had graduated from the same (Green to Gold) program, and she spoke very highly of her time there.

What have you enjoyed most about your time in the Graduate School

My favorite thing about Hood College has been the in-person experience. My previous experience with college was fully online, and being in person has allowed me to build lasting relationships on campus.
