What has been your most impactful experience outside of the classroom?

The most impactful experience I’ve had outside the classroom is through my internship at the Georgetown Hill Lab School, where I got to read to and teach Pre-K-aged children during spring of my junior year. I learned a lot about my future career and had a lot of fun doing so!

Congratulations on receiving the Johanna Chait Essex ’53 Prize in Early Childhood Education! How have scholarships benefited you as a Hood student?

Receiving scholarships helped me achieve my goals at Hood by letting me focus on my studies and interests to foster self-growth and discovery without worrying about anything else.

Why do you feel that scholarships and awards are important for students pursuing higher education?

I believe scholarships and awards are important in higher education because they allow students to freely find what they are passionate about without worrying about how to to support it financially.
