Alli House ’25, from Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey, is a junior midfielder on the women’s soccer team at Hood College. She chose to attend Hood because of the ability to play soccer and pursue her degree in nursing. House was one of two players on her team to receive MAC Conference honors and was named as an honorable mention this season.

The Blazers women’s soccer team is going on a spring training trip to Italy and Croatia next semester from March 9 to 18. This will be the first time that the team will be traveling abroad.

This opportunity for the team is special because of the team bonding and cultural exchange they will have as a result of the trip. The goal is to improve their skills on the field as well as improve their relationships off the field and create memories for a lifetime.

“This will be a very fun experience, and we are all very excited to go,” said House.

The team will play matches against some of the local teams from both countries. They will also get to tour the Sistine Chapel, among other sites. House said that she is most excited to visit Croatia and experience the cultures there.

The women’s soccer team is currently doing an online fundraiser, where anyone can donate to help lower the cost of the trip. The time abroad will be a great experience for the players, allowing them to learn and grow as young adults.

“Every donation helps. It really means a lot to our team,” House said.
