Department of Physical Education

Health issues have universal interest and appeal, transcending the boundaries of race, religion, culture and national origin. Over the past two decades, the importance of maintaining or improving one’s well-being through health-enhancing activities has become self evident. Responding to these developments, the Department of Physical Education offers activity- and health-related courses to Hood students.

Students have the opportunity to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to enhance their quality of life and establish lifestyles that promote wellness.

The Hood College Department of Physical Education offers course work directed at increasing student awareness of the importance of physical activity and at gaining the skills and understanding basic to a lifetime of activity.

Students have the opportunity to complete lecture classes focusing upon stress reduction and physical fitness as well as activity classes focusing upon physical fitness, creative expression, risk-taking and sports skills.
