Exciting News.... Instant Decision and FAFSA Completion available at Open House!

Hood College is thrilled to enhance our Open House programming with Instant Decision and FAFSA Completion events! Now, Open House is a one-stop destination where students can receive admission decisions and complete their FAFSA.

  • Eligibility: Available for high school seniors starting in fall 2026 and transfer students starting in spring or fall 2026.
  • Registration: Students do not need to register in advance for either option; simply bring the required items to participate.

Get an immediate admission decision during this unique opportunity for high school seniors and transfer students attending college in 2026! High school seniors and transfer students attending college in fall 2026 can complete the FAFSA on-site with assistance from our financial aid staff. 

How to participate:
If you have not already applied and/or received your admission decision, bring your transcript(s) and they will be collected when you check in for Open House. Expect to receive your admission decision by the end of the event. 

Required Materials (high school seniors):

  • Unofficial or official transcript (grades 9-11)

Required Materials (transfer students):

  • Unofficial or official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended
  • If you have completed fewer than 24 transferable credits, we will also require your final high school transcript
  • Writing sample (this can be a paper you have already written for a class) 

How to participate:
Stop by the library, room 2006, between noon and 2 p.m.

Requirements:

Optional Materials (high school seniors):

  • Essay (600 words or less)
  • Resume
  • Recommendation letters

Optional Materials (transfer students):

  • Resume
  • Recommendation letters

Helpful but Optional:

  • Prior year tax documents (2024’s 1040 or W-2s) are useful for utilizing the IRS Data Retrieval Tool within FAFSA.
