Hood College is proud to continue its participation in the VA’s Yellow Ribbon Program. This program funds tuition and fee expenses that exceed the maximum amount awarded through the Post 9/11 GI Bill. The VA and Hood College will match those expenses that exceed the maximum amount paid by the Post 9/11 GI Bill. Students who are 100% eligible for benefits under the Post 9/11 GI Bill may apply to Hood College’s Yellow Ribbon program. Openings in Hood’s Yellow-Ribbon program are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Scholarships will be granted in the following manner:

  • Scholarship applicants must have proof of application for Chapter 33 or a Certificate of Eligibility (CoE) from VA to be considered for the program.
  • Applicants who have not received their CoE before applying for the program must submit it to the VA Certifying Official as soon as it is received.
  • Applicants must complete and submit the Hood College Declaration of Intent form, and applicants must be registered at Hood College for the courses to be certified.
  • Participating students remain in the Yellow Ribbon program throughout their enrollment at Hood College and remain eligible for the scholarship as long as each of the following applies:
    • Hood College continues to participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program
    • The students remain in good academic standing
    • The students have remaining entitlement
