Urpelainen is the founding director of the Initiative for Sustainable Energy Policy (ISEP) at Johns Hopkins. He teaches action-oriented classes on energy and environmental policy to equip the next generation of global leaders with deep knowledge, advanced analytical skills and a passion for transformational social change.

“Great Decisions” is a series of foreign policy discussions that has been hosted by the Foreign Policy Association (FPA) since the 1950s. This is the second time that Hood is hosting the kick-off lecture for the series.
