Susan Eisenhower to Discuss Leadership in Times of Uncertainty at Hood College

Susan Eisenhower, policy strategist, author and granddaughter of President Dwight D. Eisenhower, will present a public talk, “Leadership in Times of Uncertainty with Hearts, Minds and Hands,” at Hood College on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 5 p.m. The event will take place in Hodson Auditorium in Rosenstock Hall and is free and open to the public.

Drawing on her extensive work in strategic leadership, national security and public policy, Eisenhower will explore the qualities and approaches that can help leaders navigate periods of uncertainty and complexity. Her talk will also offer an opportunity for attendees to consider the role of purposeful leadership in addressing personal, professional and global challenges.

Eisenhower is a well-known policy strategist whose work has focused on national security, strategic issues and leadership development. She is the president of The Eisenhower Group, Inc., a Washington, D.C.-based consulting company she founded in 1986. For decades, the firm has provided strategic counsel on business development, public affairs and communications projects for Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies. Through the firm, Eisenhower also provides executive training on strategic leadership.

The author of five books, including her most recent, How Ike Led: The Principles Behind Eisenhower’s Biggest Decisions, Eisenhower has authored hundreds of opinion pieces for publications including The Washington Post, The New York Times and the Los Angeles Times.
Eisenhower has received numerous honors for her work, including the U.S. Department of Energy’s Distinguished Service Award, an honorary degree from the U.S. Army War College and France’s Légion d’Honneur.
