Hood Pitch Competition

FREDERICK, Maryland—Hood College will hold its first ever business pitch competition April 26 at 6:30 p.m. in Hodson Auditorium in Rosenstock Hall.

Four finalists have been selected to present their business pitches in front of a live audience and panel of judges in Hood’s version of the TV show Shark Tank. Each finalist will give a 15-minute pitch to try to sell the judges on their business ideas.

The finalists include Hood students Nathan Temple ’19 and Erick Sovich ’19 with OpenSermon, Hood employee Kit Peteranecz and alumna Alison Peteranecz ’06 with GameEnvy, alumna Carol Heine ’84 with Potluck.chat, and alumna Chelsea Young ’14 with MOD Nutrition.

The judges include Eric Brown, senior vice president of operations and principal at KBE Building Corporation; Jim Caruso, CEO of Flying Dog Brewery; and Brad Sayler, co-founder and COO of Spotluck.
