Biography

I grew up in the suburbs of Toronto, Canada. I stayed in my hometown and studied at University of Toronto for my undergraduate and graduate degrees.

My passion for teaching started when I was working as a TA during my graduate studies. Subsequently, I was an adjunct professor at Bay State College in Boston, teaching anatomy and physiology to nursing students.

At Hood College, I teach undergraduate cell biology and anatomy & physiology. In my lab, my research focuses on 1) understanding the function of the antenna of the cell, a tiny cellular organelle called the primary cilium, and 2) how cells communicate with each other through a family of cell surface proteins called glypicans.

In my spare time, I enjoy doing various arts and crafts activities, and ice-skating.
