Stephanie Masters

Biography

I am an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Hood College. I completed my doctoral studies at the University of Alabama studying Experimental Psychology with a Developmental Psychology concentration and a Statistics Minor. I also received a masters degree in Clinical Psychology with a Neuropsychology concentration from the University of Texas at Tyler.  

My research focuses on peer relationships in adolescence and how gender stereotypes impact these peer relationships. I am also interested in a broad range of consequences for adolescence, which are often gendered in nature, when there are poor peer relationships preset. I invite students to reach out to me if they are interested in joining my research lab, the Gender, Adolescence, and Peers (GAP) lab. I love working at Hood and helping students to engage with psychological research firsthand, with many who are doing it for the very first time!
