Biography
Dr. Maria Taylor is a dedicated scholar and educator whose work centers on understanding and addressing the systemic barriers that impact the well-being of marginalized populations. With research that focuses on incorporating cultural humility, Dr. Taylor’s interests include understanding the social determinants of health inequities that impede treatment adherence for individuals dealing with chronic illness, as well as the vicarious impact of educators' social-emotional well-being on their students. Dr. Taylor earned both her M.S.S.W. and her Ph.D. at the University of Texas at Arlington.
