Congratulations on Becoming a Blazer!
We are excited to meet you and help to acclimate you to your new home at Hood College. As a new student, you are required to participate in Orientation – a multi-day experience designed to engage you, connect you, and help you to make a smooth transition into Hood College.
Orientation will help you to BELONG at Hood College through intentional programming designed to kick off a positive and productive first year.

Orientation in Three Easy Steps
- Register for and Attend SOAR at Hood
Visit campus for SOAR at Hood: a one-day, on-campus summer experience where you'll meet faculty and staff, get to know Peer Mentors, learn next steps for enrollment, get your campus ID, tour campus, and connect with resources across campus. Parent(s) and guest(s) will have a tailored SOAR schedule as well.
First-time undergraduate students:

- Complete your Deposited Student Checklist
This checklist is designed to help you to complete all of the necessary requirements to have a smooth transition to Hood College. The checklist contains links to important forms, IT information, placement test information, housing information, and more.
- Step Three – Register for and Attend Orientation
As a reminder, all residential and commuter students are required to attend Orientation. Parent(s) and guest(s) are welcome to join you on the first day of Orientation until we say farewell at the BBQ Send-off. Don’t worry – we’ve got you from there!
