The Dr. Dana G. Cable Outstanding Thanatology Student Award
Established in 2011 by Jacqueline L. Kreh M.A.’10, C’10 in memory of Dr. Dana G. Cable, professor of psychology and thanatology, the award is given annually to the top graduate student completing thanatology coursework who demonstrates academic achievement, leadership ability, teamwork skills and contribution to the academic environment. Cable died in 2010.
The Kristen S. Carter M.S.’18 Outstanding School Counseling Student Award
Established in 2023 by Kristen Carter M.S.’18, the award is given annually to the top graduate student in the school counseling program who demonstrates academic achievement, leadership ability, teamwork skills and contribution to the program.
The Terry L. Martin ’76, M.A.’78 Grief & Trauma Counseling Award
Established in 2023 by alumni, faculty and staff members in memory of longtime faculty member Terry Martin ’76, M.A.’78, associate professor emeritus of psychology, who passed away in 2022, the award is given to annually to a graduating counseling student enrolled in the thanatology or trauma, crisis, grief and loss certification programs who shows outstanding promise in grief and/or trauma counseling.
The Parrott-Anderson Outstanding Clinical Mental Health Counseling Student Award
Established in 2017 by Cheryl D. Parrott M.A.’06, C’05, H’09 and her husband, Jack N. Anderson, Chaplain (Colonel), USA Ret., the award is given annually to the top graduate student in the counseling program who demonstrates academic achievement, leadership ability, teamwork skills and contribution to the program.
