Direct Payment Programs
Qualified employees in the Frederick County Public School (FCPS) or Montgomery County Public School (MCPS) systems are now able to take advantage of a user friendly Direct Payment program when enrolling in graduate courses at Hood College. Off-Site Cohort Agreements
Hood College's Educational Leadership program has formal partnerships with two local counties, Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) and Washington County Public Schools (WCPS), in order to provide off-campus graduate curricula to local teachers--both master’s and certificate options. With enrollments of twelve to eighteen students, we run classes in local schools and offices, which allows us to discount certain costs and fees that would otherwise be incurred from using campus classrooms, parking, and other infrastructure. We pass these savings onto the teachers in each cohort.
In addition, we employ local system administrators as adjuncts for the in-county courses, which enables the delivery of course materials and topics using local system case studies. The local courses are further enhanced with frequent guest speakers and presenters directly from the leadership ranks of the counties. With these local system supports, we are able to design very responsive courses for future leaders of these school systems.
