BioBeers Promotes Bioinformatics Program

FREDERICK, Maryland—The Graduate School at Hood College will host a BioBeers event to promote its bioinformatics program Nov. 15 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Whitaker Campus Commons.

The first 100 people through the door will receive a commemorative pint glass etched with the Hood College bioinformatics logo. BioBeers is a national Meetup for people 21 and older that provides a platform where like-minded bio-preneurs gather to share ideas, cultivate business relationships and build life-long friendships.

Hood’s master’s program in bioinformatics is a cross-disciplinary degree that includes biology, mathematics and computer science. The educational objective of the degree is to ensure that students develop expertise in both the biological and computational concepts needed in today’s research and corporate biotechnology labs.

This event is free and open to the public. To attend, RSVP at www.hood.edu/biobeers. Attendees should bring their government-issued ID to enter the event. For more information, contact April Boulton at boulton@hood.edu.
