Step Documentary Screening

FREDERICK, Maryland—Hood College is hosting a screening of the movie “Step” on Feb. 9 at 6 p.m. in Hodson Auditorium in Rosenstock Hall to celebrate the beginning of Black History Month.

“Step” is a 2017 documentary of the senior year of a girls’ high school step dance team in inner city Baltimore. The team members are determined to win a championship and be the first in their families to go to college. This will be the first time this documentary has been screened in Frederick. Following the movie, the Urban Outlet, Hood’s talent collective, will perform a step routine of their own and invite the audience to participate.

Sponsored by the African American Studies program, the Black Student Union, the Urban Outlet and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, this event is free and open to the public.
