The comprehensive fee covers student engagement and technology and communications access.

Medical insurance

Domestic students can obtain health insurance through the health care exchanges established pursuant to the Affordable Care Act. Information on the Maryland Health Insurance Exchange can be found at http://insurance.healthcare.com.

As required by law, all full-time international students must have adequate medical insurance coverage, either through an overseas student insurance plan or other international student insurance plan. Information on some options available can be obtained from the accounting office or the office of multicultural affairs and international student programs. Proof of coverage must be provided by Aug. 15.

Student Athlete Insurance

All Hood College student-athletes are required to purchase an excess injury insurance policy made available through the institution. The insurance premium is $100 per year and will be automatically applied to the student’s account once the athlete participates in an official practice. Students participating in more than one intercollegiate or club team will only incur the cost once. For more information and claim procedures please click here.
