• Jason Voryas, Cybersecurity Research Analyst (September 2025-Present). Areas: Alert Prioritization & Tuning (observability); SIEM - Event Management (Splunk); Automated Response (SOAR), Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response.
• Joseph Matthew, Cybersecurity Intern (Summer 2025). Areas: Steganography.
  • Performance analysis of steganography tools (OpenStego, SilentEye, StegHide, OpenPuff) using image quality metrics (PSNR, SSIM, MSE), detectability tests, and usability ratings. Development of a custom Python-based 4-bit LSB image steganography algorithm (OpenCV, NumPy) to balance capacity with stealth;  quantitative result validation.
  • Placed 2nd/60 in UC Irvine's 2025 SREI x NGS program.
     

Advisory Board

Our external Advisory Board provides programmatic guidance for the Department of Computer Science and IT's curricular offerings, scholarly and outreach activities as a whole. The Board is comprised of industry, government, and education professionals that forge a key connection between the Department's and the Center's activities, academic offerings, and current workforce needs. The board meets annually.
