Hood College Appoints Paige Eager as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

Hood College has announced the appointment of Paige Eager, Ph.D., as provost and vice president for academic affairs. Eager, who has served as interim provost since July 2024, will assume the role permanently.

In this role, Eager will oversee Hood’s academic programs and departments, faculty affairs and key academic support units, working closely with faculty and administrators to advance the College’s mission and support student success. As provost, she will guide strategic academic initiatives, strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration and continue fostering an engaging and rigorous learning environment for Hood students.

Eager has been a member of the Hood College community for more than two decades. A professor of political science, she previously served as chair of the Department of Political Science, director of the Global Studies program and dean of the faculty. Her leadership has helped shape academic programs and support innovative learning opportunities across the College.

As provost, Eager will work with leadership across Hood’s academic departments and student support areas to ensure the continued strength of the College’s undergraduate and graduate programs while advancing initiatives that support student achievement and institutional growth.
