About this Program

Understand what makes us human.

Program Overview

The human development minor explores the psychological, social and biological factors influencing growth and change across the lifespan. This interdisciplinary program focuses on understanding developmental processes from infancy through late adulthood, with special emphasis on cognitive, emotional, physical and social development. Students will explore how individuals navigate life transitions and respond to challenges at each stage. Courses emphasize both the universal patterns of development and the diversity of experiences influenced by family dynamics, cultural background and social environments.
