Archaeology

The Archaeology program at Hood College offers students an immersive, hands-on exploration of past human cultures through fieldwork, laboratory analysis, and interdisciplinary study. Rooted in both scientific investigation and historical understanding, the program provides opportunities to work directly with artifacts, conduct excavations, and engage with material culture from around the world. With guidance from experienced faculty and access to specialized facilities, students gain the practical skills and critical thinking essential for careers in archaeology, museums, cultural resource management, and graduate study.
