Studio Arts at Hood College

At Hood College, our Studio Arts program offers a wide range of courses designed to support creativity, technical skills, and artistic exploration. Students can take classes in:

  • Mixed Media and Special Topics

Facilities & Amenities

Our studios are equipped to provide students with hands-on experience in professional-level spaces, including:

  • Ceramics Studios with electric kilns, atmospheric kilns, wheels for throwing, and space for hand-building techniques.
  • Painting Studio with abundant natural light and large easel workstations.
  • Printmaking Studio with presses and equipment for traditional and contemporary print processes.
  • Drawing Studio designed for figure drawing, foundations, and advanced practice.

Whether you’re just beginning or refining your artistic practice, our facilities and courses give you the tools and environment to grow as a creative thinker and maker.

The Ceramic Arts Graduate Program has been closed. Undergraduate ceramics classes are still being offered. The schedule of courses and workshops and registration information is available below. Hood offers a variety of workshops for a range of skills. The courses are offered during the evenings and weekends.
