About this Program

The nonprofit and civic engagement studies minor prepares students for further study and the work world in the large and vibrant nonprofit sector.

Program Overview

Required courses include an internship with a nonprofit, courses on philanthropy and social entrepreneurship, grants writing and fundraising, the management of nonprofits, and the evolution of the nonprofit sector.

Special attention is given to civic engagement and the many ways in which citizens can engage with each other and governments. Students who intend to work in the fields of health, education, politics, and any of the professional fields will find this minor extremely useful.

It is an interdisciplinary minor open to all majors.
