Free Summer Courses

Hood College is excited to offer one course to all new first-year and transfer undergraduate students in either Summer session I or Summer session II 2024 at no charge. Use this opportunity to complete required developmental coursework or get a head start on your enrollment. See below for details of the courses and other information.

  • Summer I: May 20 - June 30
  • Summer II: July 1 - August 11

Registration & Fees

  • Summer registration deadline for students enrolling in a free course: 
    • Thursday, May 16 at 5:00pm for Summer I (classes begin Monday, May 20) 
    • Thursday, June 27 at 5:00pm for Summer II (classes begin July 1)
  • New first-year and transfer students will not be charged tuition for the credits, but will need to pay for books or other required materials as directed by the instructor.

Transfer students

To enroll in a summer I class, please email the Student Success Center at studentsuccess@hood.edu, and they will help you select an appropriate class for your educational plans; placement testing may be required. 

First-year students

To enroll in a summer I class, email the Student Success Center at studentsuccess@hood.edu, and they will help you select an appropriate class for your educational plans; placement testing may be required. 

To enroll in a summer II class, please let your summer advisor know, and they will help you select an appropriate class for your educational plans; placement testing may be required. Your summer advisor will be assigned to you the beginning of June.

 

This opportunity is open to all new students who have submitted their enrollment deposit. If you have not already submitted your enrollment deposit, please do so here. You must submit your deposit before you can register for this free class. 

New students who enroll in a free course during summer 2024 and do not subsequently enroll in the fall 2024 term will be responsible for the cost of the course.
