New Student Orientation Information
Spring New Student Orientation (NSO) is a one-day experience for all new Blazers that takes place Friday, January 16. NSO is designed to engage you, connect you, and help you to make a smooth transition into Hood College.
Participation in New Student Orientation is REQUIRED for all incoming Spring residential and commuter students.
- Undergraduate classes begin on Tuesday, January 20

| Noon-1 p.m. | Campus Tour (optional) | Various Locations Worried that you don't know where you need to be on the first day of class? This campus tour will help you learn where everything is on campus! Meet our Blazer Ambassadors at the Whitaker Campus Center Switchboard at noon for your tour. |
| 1-1:15 p.m. | Hood Hello | Whitaker Campus Commons Say a friendly Hood Hello to Dean Johnson and other members of the Hood Community. |
| 1:15-1:45 p.m. | Building Community | Whitaker Campus Commons Meet our Director of Inclusive Excellence to discuss our Hood Community and how you play an important role in it. |

| 2-2:30 p.m. | Academic Support | Whitaker Campus Commons Learn about some of the academic resources that will help you to succeed at Hood. |
| 2:30-3 p.m. | Financing Your Education | Whitaker Campus Commons Financial Aid is here to answer your questions and help you navigate how to finance your education at Hood. |
| 3-4 p.m. | Get Connected | Whitaker Campus Commons Meet with Student Engagement staff and learn how to get connected at Hood through engagement and leadership opportunities. |
| 4-4:30 p.m. | Keeping Our Campus Safe | Whitaker Campus Commons Hear from Campus Safety to learn more about staying safe at Hood. |
| 4:30-5 p.m. | Mental Health and Wellness | Whitaker Campus Commons Learn about mental health and wellness resources for students. |
| 5-6 p.m. | Dinner (optional) | Coblentz Dining Hall Coblentz Dining Hall will be open for dinner between 5-6 p.m. |
