Break Housing
All residence halls close for Thanksgiving, Winter Break, and Spring Break. Students must prepare their rooms for Residence Life inspections and depart by 12PM on the days of closure.
If you would like to stay in the residence halls during break housing, you must submit the Break Housing form which is provided below. Your student account will be charged the total amount for each portion of stay. We do not charge per day; therefore, you must pay for the entire portion of the break you stay on campus. Frequent inspections will be conducted by Residence Life for compliance. Any student staying on campus without approval will be subjected to fees and the Student Conduct process.
The following students are eligible for a Break Housing fee waiver:
- [Thanksgiving Break Housing only] Students with a home address more than 1,000 miles away.
- F1 Students (as defined by the College)
- Athletics Graduate Assistants
- Students registered as homeless through Financial Aid
- Student teachers/interns doing internships during the break which is required for their major

- Rosemont Houses residents
- ROTC cadets
- In-season athletes
- Resident Assistants (on-call)
- Peer Mentors working during Spring Orientation (move-in date: January 14, 2026 at 12PM)

The Break Housing fee waiver will only be applied to students who are approved by Residence Life. Dining services may be limited or unavailable during break periods.
Any student who does not complete the Break Housing form by the given deadline will not be eligible for Break Housing. Unauthorized occupancy will not be permitted. Any student in violation of this policy will incur fines and will be subjected to the Student Conduct process which may result in jeopardizing future housing opportunities.
