Parking lot construction

East Campus Parking Lot

The razing of Strawn and Carson Cottages allows for improvements to the east side of campus, including additional parking and lighting and safer pedestrian walkways.

The project is expected to be concluded by the first week of the semester.

July 11 Updates
  • Site work will continue, with curb work starting.
  • Triangle working on schedule and count of spaces that will be available at the start of semester. (Weather will always be a factor)
  • Gravel lot area and access road; area you see in photo above should be completed by move-in.
  • For early move ins to Smith, we should plan for access from Brodbeck Drive. While the roadway and some areas may be completed, there will be too much construction activity in the area for parking lot side access.
  • Triangle is working on schedule to see ability of Chapel lot area being completed by start of semester or how far into semester the work may go.
  • There will be some work into semester on the bio retention/ storm water areas and the lighting; temporary lighting as needed. Please note that the light poles in the fenced area have been removed so this area of campus will be darker.
  • Park Avenue will continue to be the main construction entry point. There may be the need for some secondary traffic to entry at the Brodbeck entrance, but this will be coordinated an monitored by Triangle.
