Elements of a Presidential Inauguration

The Procession

The colorful and formal inaugural prcoession resembles a commencement procession, with additional components -- delegates from other colleges and universities and representatives from academic societies and organizations. Delegates march according to the school's founding date, the oldest school going first.

Additionally, Hood invites alumni representing each class year to be a part of the procession. Undergraduate students will also process as a part of their anticipated graduation year; graduate students will be identified by their academic program.

Presidential Installation

The chair of the Board of Trustees commends the authority of the institution to the new president and presents the Chain of Office to be worn with the presidential regalia.
